Snyder has progressed as a reporter through internships with the Arizona Capitol Times and Ahwatukee Foothills News, as well as working for The State Press, ASU’s student-run newspaper. Snyder has also become knowledgeable of digital journalism though an internship with the web department at KNXV-TV (ABC15) and through extensive work with the Downtown Devil.
The Downtown Devil is a news website that focuses on ASU’s Downtown Phoenix campus and the surrounding community. Snyder co-founded the site with four other ASU students in January 2009 and has been involved since as an editor, reporter and photographer.
After three years of fine art photography education in high school, Snyder aimed to take that knowledge and apply it to journalism. So far, she has been successful visually communicating the news through individual photographs and multiple slideshows.
As a student in Barrett, the Honors College, Snyder is currently pursuing a master’s degree in mass communication and a bachelor’s degree in print journalism through the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, as well as a Spanish minor through the School of Letters and Sciences.
