SoLS Takes a Hike
Graduate students Jessica Amacher and Amy Hansen, along with Susanne Neuer, participated in the School of Life Sciences (SoLS) Takes a Hike program in April 2010. The annual program is open to the public and is designed to foster greater understanding of Arizona ecology. This year’s event was held at the Riparian Preserve at Water Range in Gilbert. Student researchers and professors led guided tours on local birds, insects, and plants. The Neuer lab headed the microscope station, where visitors were invited to observe the hidden wealth of algal and animal life that abounds in natural Phoenix-area waterways.
