I currently serve as Adjunct Professor in the School of Sustainability and as core faculty at the Center for Social Dynamics and Complexity at Arizona State University. My research focuses on the evolutionary dynamics of complex adaptive systems. Using agent-based modelling, I study the evolution of cooperative behavior and related questions regarding the emergence of sociality, institutions, and social networks. Further, I am interested in practical applications of the topic to the field of sustainability, especially international institutions that facilitate the provisioning of global public goods.

Prior to a PhD in theoretical biology and evolutionary economics, I earned an honors B.S. in finance and worked for several years in international finance. As a Certified Management Account (CMA) and a certified SQL programmer, I continue to offer consulting services in corporate finance, database applications, and litigation support.
