ENH 484: Superstition Review Internship Policies

Instructor:
Patricia Murphy

Course Description : This is a 400 level course that provides 3 hours of internship credit. Although I expect students to teat this internship as a part-time job, I do run this in the manner of a traditional online course so that we can more easily monitor deadlines. You will be assigned a role on the magazine and a list of tasks that you will need to accomplish during our 16 week semester.

Course Learning Goals : The most exciting part of an internship with Superstition Review is that you will learn multiple skills that offer great insight into publishing. You will be given many opportunities including deadline management, how to correspond with authors, how to choose and format work for publication, how to solicit work, how to conduct interviews with authors, elements of web design, history of online publications, and other detailed steps of the publication process.

Required Work : The following is a matrix of roles that have been assigned for Fall 2009. We will have a meeting to discuss tasks during the first week of class.
