                                       Project directors,

Dr. Tracy Spinrad and Dr. Nancy Eisenberg

Dr. Tracy Spinrad is an Assistant Professor in the department of Family and Human Development at ASU.  She received her Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies from the Pennsylvania State University, and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at ASU.   Dr. Spinrad studies the factors that contribute to infants' and toddlers' social and emotional development.

Dr. Nancy Eisenberg is a Regents' Professor in the department of Psychology at ASU.  She received her B.A. at the University of Michigan and her Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley.  Dr. Eisenberg has studied, taught, and written about children's social and emotional development for over two decades.  Her research examines how children get along with others, their helpfulness and empathy for others, their problems of adjustment, and how they deal with their emotions.

Anne Kupfer is a Faculty Research Associate in the department of Psychology, and Project Director for the Toddler Emotional Development Project.

Cindy Smith is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the department of Psychology.  She received her B.S. from the Pennsylvania State University, and her Ph.D. from UNC-Greensboro, where she worked extensively with toddlers and their families.

Adrienne Sadovsky is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the department of Psychology, having recently completed her Ph.D. at the University of Wyoming in Laramie.  When not working, she enjoys hiking, reading, cooking, and spending time with her dog, Basil.

Karissa Greving is a doctoral student in the department of Family and Human Development.  Most of our parents met her in the hospital when their "new addition" arrived into their families.   Karissa received her B.A. at ASU, but was born and raised in Wisconsin--a "cheesehead" and proud of it.  She also has two nephews that serve as her personal consultants about infants and toddlers!

Bridget Gaertner is a doctoral student in the department of Family and Human Development.  She received her  B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis--her hometown and the best sports town ever.  Bridget and her husband Scott have four terrific kids--Jaime, Lexi, Lindsey and Abby (love you guys!).

Amanda Cumberland is a doctoral student in Developmental Psychology.

Elizabeth Stanley is a doctoral student in School Psychology.  She is originally from South Carolina, receiving her B.A. from Clemson University (Go Tigers!!), and she and her husband, Mick, moved to Arizona three years ago.  Elizabeth also works at the Infant Child Research Program and serves as a therapist for children with autism.
Jeffrey Liew is a doctoral student in Developmental Psychology.  His research interests focus on risk and protective factors that predict children's affective and behavioral reactions during frustrating situations and how their reactions predict concurrent and later socioemotional adjustment.  Jeff is also the "Resident Graduate Stranger" for this project.

Claire Champion is a doctoral student in Developmental Psychology.  She is originally from Grenoble, France, where she earned her undergraduate degree in psychology.

Melinda Baham is a doctoral student in Developmental Psychology, and is originally from southern California.

We also have a wonderful team of undergraduates who do so much for the project,  both in the lab and "behind the scenes"--a great big THANKS goes out to all of them!
