Dr. Zhu came to ASU in 2006 after completing his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Washington State University, where he also earned an M.S. in Computer Science.


His research interests center on applied and computational mathematics with a specific focus on computational algorithms for optimization problems. In particular, Dr. Zhu works in the areas of stochastic programming, semidefinite programming, and applications in finance, logistics, computer networks and wireless sensor networks.
