As the world of journalism continues to change and evolve, my passion for the industry is based on an aspect that remains constant: the people.

The best stories, the most memorable days lugging the equipment around, the reasons to battle the elements and the things beyond our control are all a direct result of the people who make this job worth it.

The mother who lost her child to a backyard pool drowning, the father who spent his life searching for a lost son, or the family who lost their house to a fire, only to be embraced by the community. Stories like these and the people who make them a reality are the reason I will pursue a career in reporting. I want to tell their stories.

In every field of journalism, from weather to sports, there are stories within the stories that set certain journalists apart. I want to find those stories.

While I realize that the road ahead is uncertain and most definitely will take unexpected turns, people will always need journalists to tell their stories, and as a journalist, I will always cherish the people that want their story told.
