Ahmed Emad Ewaisha

Short Bio

Ahmed Ewaisha was born in Cairo, Egypt. He received his B.S. degree with honors in electrical engineering ranking top 5% on his class at Alexandria University in 2009. Then, in 2011 and 2016, he received his M.Sc and Ph.D. degrees in wireless communications from Nile University and Arizona State University, respectively. His Ph.D. dissertation title was "Power Allocation and Scheduling of Real-Time Data for Cognitive Radios" under the supervision of Prof. Cihan Tepedelenlioglu.

Since August 2017, he has been working as a Teaching Assistant Professor at ASU where his focus is on developing the online classes for the ECEE (Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering) department. His main research interests fall in the broad area of wireless communications and networking with a focus on developping algorithms to guarantee acceptable quality-of-service for real-time applications such as audio and video data.

Projects

  • PhD Project We are currently studying the quality of service of the secondary users in cognitive radio systems. Previous efforts in the literature in the cognitive radio systems research have focused on the trade-off between the sensing and throughput. However, the secondary users' QoS is difficult to be guaranteed by studying this trade-off alone. The main aim of the study is to study the delay as a QoS metric and develop algorithms that guarantee delay optimality under the constraints of the cognitive radio systems.

  • MSc. Project We studied the Cognitive Radio system from a cross-layer perspective.
