PHY121-Numerical Test Information for Fall 2022

(1) Our Numerical Tests will be given on desktop
computers in the Physics Testing Center,
    PSH-563, and will require in-person
attendance. Seating will be assigned, with
a minimum of one seat separating any two
    students.

(2) The Tests will be given during the THU
recitation time; the Test will open at
WebAssign at 3:00 and disappear at 3:55.
There will be a seating chart with
assigned seats. The map of assignable
computers in PSH-563 is available from
our class webpage and via this link:

    Map of PSH-563

As the Test date approaches, the seating
chart for that particular Test will be
made available on our class webpage (look
on the line that begins with Test Info).

(3) Please plan to arrive early. Please do
not enter the testing room unless the door
is propped open and your proctor, usually
    your TA, is inside.

(4) Once you are inside the testing room,
and have found your assigned computer,
please place your photo ID (Sun Card or
other) on the table in front of you.

(5) Sign in to your assigned computer with

        username: testing
        password: testing

Use Microsoft Edge and go to webassign.net
and login to your WebAssign account.
The test will appear at 3:00 and disappear
at 3:55. Your proctors will provide the
    test password.

Open the Test at WebAssign and enter the
test password and then click on Launch
LockDown Browser (LDB). Select Open, Yes,
Allow, etc. until the LDB is open. Then
re-open the Test, re-enter the test
    password, and select Launch Assignment.

(6) Please pick up scratch paper as you enter;
if you need more, you may ask your
proctor to provide you with another sheet.
Sign each piece of scratch paper that you
use and return them to the entrance table
as you leave. You may not leave with your
scratch paper. Use your own calculator,
but it may NOT be a smart phone calculator.

(7) You get six tries to answer each numerical
answer blank, but you lose 10% credit for
each wrong answer; so, you would receive
50% credit if you got the right answer on
the sixth try. Use the Sample Test for
Practice at WebAssign to get experience
    with answering our numerical test
questions; the test password for the
    Sample Test is

              121SampleTest

(8) If you are unable to login at WebAssign
at the start of the recitation period at
which the Test is given, or if your
WebAssign account is not active, then
that Test will have to be your dropped
Numerical test for our Fall 2022
    semester.

(9) Once you have submitted answers for all
ten numerical questions, you may log out
of WebAssign, and then log out of your
    assigned computer, and then leave.
    Thanks, GBA

(10) If you are in Covid quarantine for one of
our Numerical Tests, you will need to
schedule a make-up Numerical test, which
must occur BEFORE the next scheduled
Numerical test. If you are in Covid
quarantine as one of our Numerical tests
     approaches, send your Covid quarantine
information to gary.adams@asu.edu by 3 PM
on the WED before the Test; cc your TA
     (dyangali@asu.edu) AND your recitation LA
(agangoda@asu.edu) on that email. If you
are then pre-approved for scheduling a
make-up Test, you will get a scheduling
email before the next MON class meets.
     Thanks, GBA.
