Your professors receive an email list as a part of
the roster given to them electronically by the ASU
registrar's office.  This email list consists only
of @asu.edu email addresses.  I, and many of your
other professors, will use these lists to distribute
important class information during the semester.  If
you do not take the time to properly set your 
@asu.edu email address using the EPO Update feature
at EMMA, you will not receive this important class
information.
