Conceptual Physics 10th Edition
Our reading assignments are from this textbook.
(The cover of Hewitt 10e)
Our textbook is Conceptual Physics, tenth edition, by Paul G. Hewitt. You may purchase either a new or used copy.

If you purchase a new copy at the ASU Bookstore, three additional items have been enclosed by the publisher (Addison Wesley) at no extra cost to you. These three items are useful, but are not required. The first item is an electronic copy of the text; if you carry a laptop computer, you may find that having an electronic copy of the text is very convenient.

Practicing Physics
an optional supplement
NOT required
(The cover of Practicing Physics)
The second item is a paperback supplement to the text, Hewitt's Practicing Physics. This book contains the answers to all of the odd-numbered exercises and problems in the text, as well as an additional set of workbook-type activities (with solutions) that are coordinated with the textbook. You may find that Practicing Physics is quite useful when studying for our tests, but none of the workbook-type activities within Practicing Physics will be assigned for credit; therefore, Practicing Physics is supplemental material, and is NOT required.

The third enclosed item within a new book is a subscription code for the Physics Place (if you are lucky, you may find a used book which has an unused Physics Place subscription code). The Physics Place is an interactive website containing exercises and quizzes coordinated with our textbook. Like Practicing Physics, it is an optional study guide which is NOT required for our course.
