Out of state presenters: don't spend $20 on a cab ride from Sky Harbor airport to your hotel! The Phoenix-area light rail system can get you conveniently (not to mention in a safe and eco-friendly manner) from the airport to a hotel near campus for a fraction of the cost. Take a look at these steps below:

  1. Sky Harbor offers free shuttles to and from the terminals and the nearest light rail station (44th st. and Washington). Each is clearly marked "PHX Airport Shuttle" and its destination is viewable above the front windshield (the one to the light rail station is marked "METRO light rail").
  2. Once you arrive at the light rail station, purchase a ticket and board the eastbound train (labeled "Sycamore/Main St.") and ride until the "Veteran's Way/College St." stop.
  3. Most of our recommended hotels are within walking distance from this station. But if it's too far to walk, try the city of Tempe's free "Orbit" shuttle system. The Orbit "Mercury" stops at Sheraton Four Points and the Orbit "Jupiter" stops at the Twin Palms. Since the Veteran's Way/College stop is right at the hub of the Tempe Transit Center, any of the Orbits are available to board from there.

Lastly, if you're looking for a cheaper way to get to Arizona, Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport offers services by Allegiant Air, which flys out of many smaller and some larger airports around the U.S. This airport borders ASU's Polytechnic Campus, which also offers a shuttle back to the ASU Tempe campus.

If you have any questions about how to get here, please don't hesitate to contact us. Also, don't forget to look at the map below (scroll out to see Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport and the ASU Polytechnic Campus)!
