Hi howdy Rick,

First things first...EXCELLENT site !! It has provided me with mounds of info already, and I just got my Willys 2 weeks ago.

So, my name is Rick too, and here is my Willys story so far. A buddy of mine was offered this Wagon a few months ago, and he asked me if I might be interested. I said, well, let's go have a look. It took me about 3 seconds to say Hell YES !! So, we pumped up the tires and drug it home. It now resides in my garage...while my Mitsubishi Montero sits outside in the weather. hahaha

Anyway, here is what I know (or guess) so far:

  1. It is a 1958 Station Wagon. This was confirmed using your serial number link.
  2. I has a 6 cylinder in it...I am assuming it is the original 226
  3. Three speed tranny with split shift...spicer transfer case. I think the rear end is a Dana 25, not sure yet.

As you can see, it needs some work. I am going to try to keep it as stock as possible. I may however, upgrade the suspension if I can afford it. I'm also thinking of adding nerf bars and skid plates, as this WILL be a trail vehicle. I'm not real hard-core, but why scuff somethin' if ya don't have to?

I'll send some pics along the way if I can remember to take some.

Enjoy,

    Rick Chiddy
