Please find my CV here:

I am a research scientist at Arizona State University studying educational software and artificial intelligence. I received my PhD in Computer Science at Northwestern University. I received my B.S. and M.Eng. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2006 and 2007, respectively.

I work under the advising of Professor Kurt VanLehn as project manager for two projects: the Dragoon Intelligent Tutoring System and the ASU Primer Project.

FACT.JS Project

FACT.JS is a branch of the Formative Assessment with Computational Technologies research project, which supports teachers in math classes. For more information, check out the FACT project website.

Dragoon Intelligent Tutoring System

Dragoon is an intelligent tutor for science education. It teaches students to construct and manipulate models of dynamic systems. Learn more and try it out at the Dragoon website.

ASU Primer Project

The goal of the ASU Primer Project is to create a lifelong tutoring companion. Inspired by the Young Lady's Illustrated Primer from Neal Stevenson's novel, The Diamond Age, the ASU Primer will engage and educate its reader using a variety of technologies. For more information, visit our project website.

CogSketch Design Coach

At Northwestern, I worked in the Qualitative Reasoning Group under the advising of Professor Ken Forbus. CogSketch Design Coach was my dissertation research project.

I researched sketch understanding and qualitative reasoning in order to create intelligent coaching software that could understand and critique sketches of engineering designs. Using the CogSketch platform, I created a "Design Coach" for Northwestern's Design Thinking and Communication course.

This resarch was supported by the National Science Foundation's Spatial Intelligence and Learning Center.
