Who Am I? I'll Tell U!!

My name is Octavio and I was born in Nogales, Sonora Mexico (con mucho orgullo). My family and I came to the US in the summer of 1989. I have an older sister and a younger brother. My brother was born here in 1992, so he got lucky, he was able to be legalized the easy way (just being born). As a child my parents worked long hours and my sister was never home. I would spend a lot of my time alone, riding my bicycle for hours at a time. I remember the first school I went to did not allow us to speak Spanish; they would get upset and remind you that you live in the US. My family and I went back to Nogales in 1995; we stayed there for to years. My sister stayed here and my father had to come back because there was no work in Nogales. We came back to Phoenix for my first year of high school. We were living in Tempe and in my sophomore year we moved to Phoenix and I attended Alhambra High School. I remember going to 7 different schools from second grade until I graduated high school. Today I attend ASU and expect to graduate in December of 2005 with a double major in psychology and sociology.  Life has been good and I have learned many things along the way. I am proud of were I am from and who I am. There has been struggles, good and bad times but that is what makes life so special. I am very blessed to be completing school and achieving success even though there have been many challenges.
