Welcome to my Migration & Culture web portfolio.  I hope these pages I created will share my experiences in this class and shed some light on current migration issues.  Right now I’d like to take a moment and tell you a little bit about what I learned.

The occurrence of migration stems from a wide range of factors influencing an individual’s decision to leave their home country ~from the words of our professor Dr. Koptiuch; we successfully ‘unpacked the meaning to the phrase “in search of a better life.”’

In the following web pages I will share a little more personal information about myself and then dive into migration/cultural facts.   This portfolio also shares a story from a Filipina migrant and discusses the social, political and economical processes that were involved with this migration.
