Border Justice

On April 8th I attended the movie Border Crossings from our backyard.  The movie had interviews about the lives of immigrants and their families.  They were very in depth interviews about the troubles of their lives, why they come to America or why they need to leave their country.  This was mostly reflections on the voyages through America and what happened along the way.  It was hard to understand all the conversations but they did provide sub titles.  The one about the fat bald man was very funny, because while in school he thought he was getting perfect grades on his spelling tests because they had check marks next to his answers.  In Mexico he was a very good speller and they would put checks next to the answers that were correct, but in the U.S. the checks meant wrong answer.  It was very humorous when thinking of it, but that shows how simple things are lost in translation.
