I was born and partly raised in Philadelphia. My father made it to the
United States as a U.S. Navy sailor. As soon as he graduated from High
School, my father left the small provincial city of San Pablo and
enlisted. He traveled the globe as a sailor and regularly docked at
Philadelphia Naval station. My mom, also from the same city, finished
nursing (BSN) in University of the Philippines with a full scholarship. My
mother was recruited to work in a hospital in Canada. My father having
heard this new arrival got into his VW Beetle and left his quarters to
pursue a different mission. A couple years later, my older brother and I
occupied a majority of space in their house. Mission Accomplished. |
