Personal Biography

By Allie D'Amanda

I grew up in a small town and graduated with 32 people from a private school.  It was nice growing up in a small farming town but going to school near the city of Rochester. I got the best of both worlds, so to speak. When I got tired of the busy city life, I could get in my car and drive home, sit by the lake and watch the sunset, take a walk in the apple orchards, dip my feet in my pool while my dog sits by my side, or lay in the hammock and read a good book.

I have two younger brothers, James and Louis.  James is a sophomore at Boston University and Louis is a sophomore in high school.  The three of us went to the same pivate school, so we saw each other in the halls, the cafeteria and the playground.  I loved that about my childhood.  My parents have been there for me through thick and thin, and I thank them for giving me unconditional love.

Currently, I am a senior at Bucknell University in a gratuating class of 900.  Although I may be small, I have always stood out in a crowd. I love to analyze anything and everything, and the English department at Bucknell University has given me not only unwavering support but the tools needed to confidently, and clearly express myself. I hope to go on to graduate school for communications with a focus on public relations or graphic design. Unclear of what my future holds, I am confident in who I have become and what I have to give to the world.

I just hope that after this Semester at Sea is over, I will never forget the sights I have seen, the people I have met, and the feelings I have felt.
