Semester at Sea Fall 2006 Voyage banner

To All Internet Stumblers

By John Overington

If you have randomly stumbled upon this site, you are surely confused as to its meaning and context. This website was made for a class during the Fall 2006 voyage of Semester at Sea.  We traveled around the world in 100 days on a ship, taking classes while in motion, and visiting far flung lands in between.  This particular website was for an Urban Anthropology class that we took while onboard.  The articles to the left are my explorations of the relationship between transnational actors in relation to vernacular in the various ports of call.  I hope that you all enjoy and gain some insight into the truth about transnational actors, and their influence globally. Our itinerary and dates of arrival were as follows:

San Diego California -- August 27th, 2006
Honolulu Hawaii -- September 2nd, 2006
