Gentrification is the unit-by-unit acquisition of housing, displacing low-income
by high-income residents (Brownfield, 2001). Gentrification is a
pattern where the existing social class is wiped out and replaced by a
higher economic class. Over the past ten years, South Phoenix is
experiencing the effects of gentrification. Many families will be

Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is a non profit organization that creates affordable
housing to low income families. In 1976, Millard Fuller had a vision of
providing affordable and adequate housing. Habitat has built more than

Franchise Wanted
During our excursion through South Phoenix our group notice the lack of
the franchise industry. During a brief stop in the Vista Grande neighborhood
our group interviewed several long time residents. They expressed the want
of the franchise industry in the South Phoenix area.............Group
