As a class, we documented all of the businesses along Central Avenue.  Our group was in charge of the East side of Central from Baseline to Vineyard.

We found a lot of retail shops as shown in the pictures below.

We found a lot of lawyer-type (Van O' Steen etc.) businesses and chiropractic establishments.  We believe this is because of the type of work that the people in this area do.  We have found that many people in this area do manual labor, thus leading to more injuries, which then in turn leads to the need of chiropractors and lawyers to fight for their rights.  We talked with the man who was working in the pawn shop and he said he does a lot of business with the members of this community.  He offers pay-day loans and fast cash for anyone with a job.
