BiographyI am Nikki Holland, currently a student at Arizona State University, working on my Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences, Cell Biology & Physiology emphasis. My love for science stems from my childhood dream of becoming a marine biologist/oceanographer and an undying interest for exploration. I currently work as a legal secretary in the commercial litigation field for a large nationwide firm, Stinson Morrison Hecker. I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, and currently live in Phoenix Arizona. I have also lived in San Diego, California on two occasions. While in San Diego, I worked in the legal field and volunteered with different marine and ocean institutions. As time elapsed, although I found the law interesting and challenging, I always knew that my passion lay with the wonders of science. So, I returned to college at Arizona State University in pursuit of my biology degree. I am an avid traveler and enjoy hiking, scuba diving, surfing, running, and science fiction movies. Did I mention I love science? I am an independent student of environmental issues. I have been a funding member of the American Cetacean Society, the Center for Marine Conservation, Surfrider Foundation, Environmental Defense Counsel, and Greenpeace for many years. I currently volunteer for the Arizona Special Olympics and look forward to spending some volunteer time with Habitat for Humanity. |
