It's all about me...
My name is Jonathan Nishida and I was born in Oahu, Hawaii on October 7th, 1983. My ethic back round is primarily Japanese however I do believe I have very little Caucasian of some sort. I've moved many times in my life, in fact I have been to over 13 schools, moved 8 times in Arizona alone, and have made and lost more friends than most. Since I have moved quite a bit I chose to make my memory map on a place where I lived in my birth state; Pearl City, Hawaii. On my map you will notice that I lived in a place called Palisades which resides within Pearl City. Palisades was on top of a mountain surrounded by two valleys and the back portion a forest with many trails. I will always remember it as being a true paradise to me at least on certain days. I remember going to a private school called Children's House where it seemed to rain a lot, and that I really hated uniforms. After going to Children's House for about two years I went to Palisades Elementary for my 6th grade year. There I made some of my closes friends and had some of the best times. My best friends at the time were Ben Hamilton who was a grade under me and Brandon Tamanaha who was in my grade. I remember one time when we were playing around on top of this wall ii fell off of it and broke my arm, yeah not one of the best times. I also remember my first girlfriend, Shanna who I actually dated for almost 2 years. I remember later on in my my 7th grade year there was a big fight between like 30 or so Japanese and Koreans and a lot of police showing up making arrests. In the 7th grade I joined the Pearl City Yankees minor league baseball teams where i was nicknamed Hideo Nomo (The Tornado), because of the way I pitched the ball. We won division champions on to states and won, later I remember being awarded pitcher of the year and meeting the governor. So that is what I remember about Palisades (Pearl City), Hawaii and all the good and not so good times I had.
