Campuswire
The Campuswire discussion forum is a shared space for students to ask any class-related questions and to get the answers they need. Nothing you post will affect your grade in any way (for better or for worse), so please stay engaged by posting questions and by helping your classmates with answers and discussions. This will be the first semester we will try campuswire for communication, so we are particularly interested in your feedback regarding your experience (the good, the bad and the ugly!). Please post any comments or questions about using campuswire under the category "campuswire".
You will receive an invitation to join the BCH341 group at campuswire after you enroll in Mastering Chemistry. We will use the same e-mail address you used in Mastering Chemistry unless you have a different preference (let us know).
Take the time to familiarize yourself with the platform. This is a short introduction to the system:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rz268j1SEq0
DOs:
- Post questions about lecture notes, assignments, practice midterms, etc.
- Don't email the professor or the TA with class related questions unless you need to include something private.
- You can choose to post your question annonymously, although the professor and the TA will see your identity. Remember that nothing you post will ever affect your grade!
- Include pictures if needed (e.g. from your notebook), but never post whole answers to problems of final answers.
- Collaborate with your classmates. You can post a reply or a comment.
- Use the proper category when posting questions (e.g. HW/quiz 1, Lectures, General questions for the TA, campuswire, etc).
- Use all the tools you find helpful.
- Don't post answers or full solutions to problems. It is OK to show an equation, a small section of your work, or to suggest a hint.
- Don't E-mail the professor or the TA with questions that can be posted in Campuswire. If you do, we will reply asking you to post in campuswire or to come to office hours. Use e-mail only for communications involving confidential or sensitive information.
- Don't expect the professor or the TA to be available 24/7 to help you online.
- Don't use this as a replacement of office hours. In our experience, nothing beats the one on one interaction with a real person.
