The ASU Central European Collaborative announces the following visits and events:

the troupe from Puck Puppet Theatre and National Theatre of Cluj Napoca with two performances of Matei Visniec's play How to Explain the History of Communism to Mental Patients scheduled on October 08 & 10, 2008, at 7 pm, at ASU Recital Hall (School of Music).

The Paris-based, Romanian-born playwright Matei Visniec with a presentation entitled:

“Black Humor as Form of Political Resistance in Totalitarian Societies”

using examples from representative literature and from Matei Visniec's plays. This lecture is scheduled for

October 7, 2008, from 12:30 to 1:30, at the School of Human Evolution and Social Change, room 340.


A group of actors from the Puck Puppet Theatre of Cluj, Romania with an adaptation of the Brothers Grimm's story "The Brave Little Tailor." This performances will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2008, at 4:30 pm at Elim Romanian Pentecostal Church and Saturday, October 18, 2008, 2:00 pm at Cowden Hall, ASU.


The Babes Bolyai University Radu Ardevan, Professor of History, with two presentations on Dracula, Monday, October 6, 2008 between 10:40 - 11:30 am, in room 112 and Tursday, October 9, between 11:40-12:30, in room 247.


The actors from the National Theatre and the Puck Puppet Theatre in Cluj, Romania, with a workshop on Forum Theatre,
involving the students from ASU scheduled on
Monday, October 6, 2008 from 11:40-12:30 pm, in room 247,
and on Thursday, October 9, 2008, from 10:40-11:30 am, in room 112.

ASU students and academics will attend an after-show dinner reception scheduled on 10 October, at 8:30 pm, at Professor Dr. Ileana Orlich's residence, in Paradise Valley.
