Equations (2.3) represent the solutions for the surface brightness profiles, corrected for the color term, in each of the two filters. This procedure avoids the introduction of additional correlated errors in the radial surface brightness profiles due to the two filters used in the color term correction, that one expects when propagating errors in the more commonly applied iterative methods.
