I am an Associate Professor and the Director of the Master in Public Administration and Public Policy programs in the Arizona State University School of Public Affairs.  Prior to coming to ASU, I was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Kellogg School of Management, and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Kellogg’s Ford Center for Global Citizenship. I received my PhD in Learning Sciences at Northwestern University, where I was part of the Center for Connected Learning and Computer-Based Modeling and the Northwestern Institute on Complex Systems.  I received a Masters degree in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School, and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree from Duke University.

My professional experience prior to entering academia includes cofounding PracticeFields, a corporate education and consulting company that creates computer simulations and interactive board games of business problems, as well as working for Red Hat Software and Anderson Consulting (now Accenture).
