Goal:   to produce your document in a professional manner

It is important that the document you present for assessment reflects the hard work you put in to it. Always follow instructions carefully. Keep in mind that presentation of your document can affect how the reader perceives it. First impressions mean a lot, so sloppy or incorrectly formatted papers can negatively affect your grade. Please answer the following questions as they apply to two separate classes you are taking this semester.

• What margins, spacing, and font are required?
• What type of document is required (hard copy, Microsoft Word document, email)?
• How would my writing benefit from the use of special formats such as columns, bulleted lists, and text boxes?
• Should I use headings and subheadings to help organize my ideas?
• How might visual elements (such as border, graph, chart, or some created or imported image) add to the effectiveness of my text?
• How might color add to the effectiveness of my text?
