The Association for Computer Aided Design in Architecture (ACADIA) provides a forum for debate of theory, innovative research and applications in architectural computing and in the integration of computer aided design into architectural education, practice and research among educators, professionals and researchers. Computing and related technology are currently changing at an ever increasing pace making innovation and creative thinking a very important component of applications and research. This conference will address emerging issues in theory and practice such as:

• Research methods in architectural computing
• Social and organizational implications of computing
• Computer modeling of systems
• Visualization
• Knowledge based systems
• Object oriented technology
• Applications of computers in the area of history of architecture, design, structures, building systems, management, energy etc.
• Standardization and coordination
• User-computer interface
• The culture of computing - Internet, telecomputing, collaborative work

Conference Submission Dates

• Abstracts submission deadline February 16, 1996.
• Submission of draft of full papers for review deadline March 15, 1996.
• Notification of paper acceptance to authors May 3, 1996.
• Final Papers due June 7, 1996.
• Conference October 31-November 3, 1996.
