Dr. Kitchen is currently working to build her research team at ASU. Her research interests include innovation, design, and realization of integrated circuits for use in green energy, biomedical, and defense. She focuses on designs for solving current and future challenges in trans-disciplinary fields. This is more than designing a stand-alone circuit on silicon! All designs are integrated within a larger system. Circuit integration may include design on silicon, GaAs, exotic materials such as GaN, or even embedded circuits in ceramic or polymer materials.

A few of Dr. Kitchen’s present research areas are:

  • RF Integrated Transceivers on silicon and III-V materials (GaN).
  • Power Management and distribution for high-frequency, integrated circuits for consumer applications as well as low-power/long-term field deployment for the military and green energy (solar arrays).
  • Programmable, broadband wireless transceivers for future generation (5G) wireless communication systems.
