The Chinese Cultural Center

By Elisa Maldonado

The place I visited was for this project on migrate in the city was the Chinese Cultural Center located 668 N 44th st at phoenix. It was like crossing the border to China but inside of metro Phoenix. The Chinese Cultural Center in Phoenix has its own china town, which covers anything form restaurants through shopping centers. The Chinese Cultural Center represents the Chinese architecture by traditional garden and replicas of ancient Chinese pagodas (A Buddhist temple with projecting roof, but has decorative rather than a religious purpose) and statues, that describe the Asian culture in the Southwest. The first place that I visited the center was the 99 ranch Market. It was different than other markets I have been in. The foods they have are imported monthly, from seafood to bakery. According to the website the 99 Ranch Market has 25000 items and all seemed really delicious. Also, the Chinese Cultural Center has cultural events and activities that everyone is welcome to attend. This activity takes place so every one can learn about Chinese culture and its history. It was a wonderful experience to find out a little about Asian in Phoenix and its surroundings.
