This page contains the access information and the
opt-out instructions for the Pearson-Brytewave
inclusive access etext for PHY101-Fall 2022.

We are using an inclusive access system from Pearson
and Brytewave that automatically gives you access to
the 13th edition of Conceptual Physics by Paul Hewitt
approximately 5 days before classes begin (so on about
Aug 13).

After drop-add, your ASU account will be automatically
billed for these materials. If you do not wish to
participate in this system (i.e. you wish to purchase
the materials from another source), then you MUST
OPT-OUT of the system by the end of drop-add (i.e. by
August 24, 2022).

If you plan to opt-out, PLEASE DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE
END OF DROP-ADD to use the opt-out instructions. If
you have any issues with either accessing the eText
or following the opt-out instructions, please do not
contact your instructor. Instead, send an email to
asuinclusiveaccess@gmail.com.

Here is the information for this semester as provided
by the publisher:

The required textbook for this course will be
provisioned as an e-book and made available at a
discounted rate cheaper than if purchased directly
from the publisher. If you wish to take advantage
of this discounted group rate, no additional action
is needed. Following the drop/add period, a charge
of $35.00, plus tax, will post to your student
account under the header "Bkstr Publisher
Negotiated Rate" and your access will continue
uninterrupted. If you'd rather purchase the
material from an alternate source, you may choose
to opt out of the program by using this link:

HERE ARE THE OPT-Out INSTRUCTIONS:

Go to the above link, then enter your ASU e-mail
address AS IT APPEARS IN THE ASU DIRECTORY
(https://asu.edu/directory), then follow the
instructions provided. Be aware that if
you do opt-out, your access to the eText will
be discontinued.

(Please note: all students have two configurations
of their email address (asurite@asu.edu and
firstname.lastname@asu.edu); both are tied to the
same email account but the system will only
recognize the email address that appears in the
official ASU directory.)

If you have any trouble with the instructions
for opting out, please don't send email to
your instructor. Instead, send a report of
your issue to asuinclusiveaccess@gmail.com.

Edition eText.

HERE ARE THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR ACCESSING
YOUR Hewitt eText:

You can do nothing until you have received an
email from the ASU Bookstore. You should receive
the needed email approximately 5-days prior
to the start of class (so on about Aug 13 or 14):

Once you have received the email from the Boostore,
go to our Canvas homepage. There is a list of
tools on the left-hand side of that page. Select
Brytewave Course Materials, then click on the
panel for the Hewitt eText and follow the
instructions to gain access.

If you have any trouble with the instructions
for access, please don't send email to your
instructor. Instead, send a report of your
issue to asuinclusiveaccess@gmail.com.

(NOTE: If you get a "third-party cookies" error,
you can solve it via google; for example, if
you are using Firefox, go to google and enter
"firefox enable third party cookies for specific
