In conclusion...

America is vastly becoming a nation of mass confusion. "Amercians", as some would like to call themselves, are focused on keeping everyone out but themselves. The problem with their thought process is that America was and will always be built around immigrants. If those people want to trace back their roots, they would find out that they too have family that has migrated here from another country. The Native Amercians are the only group of people that have the right to technically call America their home. I know illegal immigration is a problem that needs to be addressed, and that the Mexican government should take some responsibility to support and maintain its own people. However, the more I have studied in this class I have come to realize that Mexican immigrants are not totally at fault. With the implementation of NAFTA, the people had no choice but to come across the border. The NAFTA treaty was great for America, but killed Mexico's economy and any chance of competing with the rest of the world financially. Americans need to be better educated with regards to illegal immigration and other issues that include NAFTA. These types of classes provide people with a better understanding on how much these poor immigrants rely on America to provide for them and their families.
