"Welcome to
Wat Promkunaram,
Thai Buddhist Temple"
Sunday morning, I work up early
and got myself ready to go to the Thai Buddhist temple in west Phoenix
with my friends. We brought many kind of Thai food for the Buddhist
monks at the temple. I took my Japanese friend with me and we walked
around the temple. We met a lot of Thai people who volunteer to support
the Thai Association of Arizona. My friends and I most enjoyed eating;
there were a lot of Thai traditional foods for free. After that we got
to help plant new lemon trees and clean around the temple area. I got
information from the people at the temple about an informal meeting
held every Sunday to discuss about the upcoming activities to get
together with Thai people in Phoenix. Like this month we are going to
have Thai New Year Festival at this Buddhist Temple. There will be a
beauty pageant, Thai food and Thai dancing performance.
