Word to the Wise

To the Future Semester at Sea Anthropology Students:

    At the beginning of my trip I felt overwhelmed and like I NEEDED to see and do as much as I could, as fast as I could.  I eventually learned to relax and reminded myself that I had three months.  I had 100 days! and many countries to travel to.  I would have experiences that I would never think I could have and I would change in ways I wouldn’t see.  I forced myself to allow as much as possible to wash over me, taking in as much as I could.  I came to terms with the fact that I had to be comfortable with being uncomfortable.  It was during this time that the best experiences and my best observations happened.

There will never be another time in your undergraduate experience where you have the chance to study so many different cultures in such a short period of time.  Allow yourself to feel, do and be a part of as much as you can.  Safe travels!
