General Tempe Information:
In the evenings many of the conference participants may wish to take in Mill Avenue, a nightlife area located adjacent to the ASU campus. The weather in Tempe in November is mild -- expect sunshine with daytime highs around 75 °F and evening temperatures around 50 °F. There are many recreational activities in the Phoenix metro area if you wish to extend your stay. Arizona is known for its championship golf courses, many of which offer a reduced rate during the summer. ASU's own championship course, Karsten, was designed by Pete Dye and it combines the look and feel of a links and stadium course. Just 4 miles from ASU is the Phoenix Zoo and Desert Botanical Gardens. The zoo features 1,300 animals while the gardens contain over 10,000 plants. There are plenty of trails for hiking or mountain biking (if you need a guide book let me know) around the Phoenix area.
