Analysis, Interpretation and sources

When I did this interview, I thought it would be very interesting to get another persons view on migration. one of the question I asked the migrant was if she would ever go back to stay in her home town? Which most people would say no and tell me they would rather go and visit and not stay. This part of the interview reminds me of when we went to Mexico, Nogales and we ask Sandra about what she would do if she was offer a trip to go live in the USA and she said no. she has seen how her fellow people from Mexico had gone and come back with no luck on their hand. Another thing about this interview was when I asked about her life being better in the US. She told me that it’s wasn’t what she was expecting American life to be with her trying to come to the US. She said when she came to the United State, She found out people were discriminating against each other even within their culture and how people were spoken to in a disrespectful manner. This part of the question reminded me of the crossing the valley where Remi from Delta said that people in different culture discriminate against tribe and how each of the tribes cannot go into another tribes because fight would break out. Furthermore, I don’t think she is a transmigrate because she said she really wants to go back home because she misses the life style of how it is back home and how people are so inviting and they help each other out when they need something. Also she said she came to the USA for her kids so that they could enjoy what America has to offer to them e.g. education. She had a good life back home in Ghana where she has a house of her own. Grace sends money to her family over in Ghana where she is come from. An example would if she was sending $150.00 US money to Ghana, it would be 1,230,720.00GHC. which is a lot of money back home for her because US dollar money is worth more over there in Ghana. When Grace told me that she dislike the fact that immigrant from another country Mexico is coming to the US the wrong way, she told me that it was unfair to her and her family who came to the United States with papers and had to wait 12years for the Immigration to grant her entrance. She also said that the president of the United State should maybe compromise and let those who have being in US for 3years and above get the papers and start working. And those who are here 3years and under should go back to their country and come in the right way. This part of the interview reminds me of the family we met standing in front of the Grupo Beta in Nogales, Mexico trying to cross the Arizona Border but got caught and where send back home.
