City Migrants

On one Sunday I decided that I would take a little trip down into Phoenix.  I chose to drive to Phoenix because when I was young we lived off of Seventh Avenue and Camelback, but moved to Buckeye when I was in grade school.  I decided that since I lived quite a bit of my life there that I would like to go back there and visit, knowing that everything would be different.

I ended up driving down Seventh Avenue until I hit Buckeye Road.  The main object that I focused on was the billboards and paints on the buildings in that area.  One building, which was a tire shop, had the Mexican and American Flag painted right next to each other.  The other thing was that common billboards that we see everyday were written in Spanish.  The billboard that caught my attention was a Wells Fargo one.  The people on the billboard are the same as the one that I see everyday when I drive to work, and I am assuming that the Spanish writing means that same thing as well.

The area is prominently occupied by Latinos and their culture is largely visible there.  It is amazing to see that within a city is a city, the buildings, the stores and the signs are adapted to the Mexican culture.
