city migrants

Acquiring material for the mini presentation "Migrants in the city" could be hard for some students, but not for me - I and my parents migrated to the USA three and half years ago. Every time I am coming home from work or from school or from anywhere, I am basically "crossing the border" between the two countries. So, I it was not hard at all to find a interviewee for this project, and I decided to interview my mother, because she is the person who actually won a green card lottery and brought me and my father to the US.

My mother had many friends who migrated to the USA when she was a kid. They brought her many presents that she could not even think about living in the Soviet Union. and told her many stories about how beautiful America is. So, migrating to the USA was my mother's dream from early age. In the beginning of the 21st century my mother was too tired to keep dealing with stupid laws and regulations to do business in Belarus, so she started to gain information on how to migrate to the USA. One of her friends told her about the lottery and she won from the first try! she and my father sold their businesses and we moved to Phoenix, AZ. Basically, my mother did that because of me and my brother (he is not here yet, but he definitely will!). She went through some difficulties in the first two years, but now she is good. She works at Wal-Mart as an overnight stocker. We bought a house two years ago, and that happened to be on her birthday. She gets bored sometimes because she did not get good friends here yet, but he definitely will find some people with whom she will have fun. Sure, my mother us home and her older son, but she still loves Arizona and even do not want to leave it for vacation!
