Me-At a Glance
Hello and thank you for visiting my webpage. Below you will find out a little about me and why I chose to take Immigration and Culture at the Arizona State University West campus. Please feel free to look around and learn a little more about my family and a lot more about migration. My name is Lucia Luna and I am currently a Junior at Arizona State University. I was born in Aurora, Ill
in 1984 and lived there until I was seven-years-old. My family and I moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1991 and then to Glendale, AZ in 1995. I currently am seeking my Bachelor's Degree in Social and Behavioral Science with a Minor in Anthropology. I hope to one day work with an adoption agency to help children from all over the world find their family's in the United States. I took this course because I felt it would help me gain a better understanding of the migration process and the various problems and obstacles that migrants often face during the course of their journeys. Another reason I took this course was to help understand what it was that my parents went through on their journey to the United States from Mexico. As the daughter of immigrants I have long been plagued with a dual identity that I struggle to balance everyday. I feel this course has helped me better understand what my life may have been like if I had been born in Mexico. |
