A Mixed Message

We have a new building dedicated to sustainability, but finding a recycling bin on this campus has been very hard....

Then, recently, these green boxes began to appear in various corners. I've always thought they were recycling bins sponsored by Pepsi because of the white posters on both sides.

But if you look closely, they are actually high tech decomposting trash cans powered by solar cells!

Whoever designed these needs to take our English 301 (technical writing).

South Mountain Park

My parents are visiting for two weeks, so we decided that it would be a good opportunity for us to explore the wonders of Arizona. We were planning to go to the Grand Canyon, but since the weather there was less than ideal, we decided to start by exploring some local sites.

South Mountain Park, which is located directly south of downtown Phoenix, is only about 45 minutes from our house. From there, we can see good part of Greater Phoneix. My colleague Roy Major recommended that we go there at sunset--which turned out to be a great piece of advice.

Before I left New Hampshire, I got to see her one last time at a Thai restaurant in Dover. Sally, may you rest in peace.
