2. Poseidon: Preparation
Every piece of equipment has to be shipped to the harbor from where a research vessel embarks (in our case Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), usually in large containers. The day before the cruise starts is very busy as the ship has to get ready for the cruise, get fuelled and supplies have to be brought in. The labs have to be set up and everything has to be securely latched.
